to the Sai Kung Stingrays Rugby Football Club. We are a young and enthusiastic family orientated Rugby Club based in the New Territories town of Sai Kung.
We were founded by a small group of parents who recognised that the large population of the Sai Kung District was not adequately provided for in the fast growing and ever popular sport of Rugby.
Our main focus is development of children in Rugby, from minis starting from the age of 4, up to the youth teams up to late teens, allowing the young stars of tomorrow to learn all about Rugby in a safe, friendly and fun environment.
We actively teach the Code of Conduct from the very earliest ages all the way through to our eldest Youth members as it is imperative that all the children have this taught to them to ensure the continued safe and fair development of the game.
We are now one of the biggest Rugby Clubs in Hong Kong for Mini's and we wish to continue to develop this talent and encourage our youngsters to develop and grow into a seniors team to allow the boys and girls a chance to play for Sai Kung at the senior level. We have our eyes firmly set on having Stingrays play for Hong Kong at the 2016 Olympics.
We particularly encourage girls to join, as a very large proportion of our stars are girls. This enables us to be at the forefront of the women's game in Hong Kong. The depth and talent of girls rugby at the club was on show in the curtain raiser at the recent Barbarians vs. Lions game in Hong Kong with Stingrays well represented.
Our coaching staff come from various backgrounds with many having played senior rugby in Hong Kong, with a couple having represented Hong Kong, both male and female! We are this year also pleased to welcome Fergus Oliver to the club as our new Head of Coaching.
We hope you enjoy finding out more about our club and hope to see you playing or supporting the Stingrays soon.
